Student Groundskeeper Description

 

Pelham City Schools is accepting applications for student groundskeepers. Responsibilities include the operation of lawn equipment in a safe and appropriate manner, keep grounds free of trash and remove items from grounds that can cause damage to district property, and to trim shrubs and trees in a timely manner. A criminal background check is required.

 

Qualifications: Applicants must be 16 years or older, a junior or senior, and enrolled in Pelham High School’s Work Based Learning (WBL) program. Must meet the WBL attendance policy and be on track for graduation. Applicants must be honest, dependable, and hard working. The applicant must also take pride in his/her work.

 

 

Compensation:         45 day probation period                  $10 per hour

                                    Following probation period           $12 per hour

 

Hours:                       Monday - Friday                              10 to 15 hours per week

                                    Summer Availability

 

Duties: Mowing, removing weeds, pruning vegetation, and removing debris.
