Position Summary We are seeking a skilled and proactive Support Technician to join our technology team at Pelham City Middle School. In this role, you will provide essential hands-on technical support to ensure seamless operations for staff, students, and administrators. This position plays a critical role in maintaining our district's technology infrastructure, supporting our commitment to digital learning tools. Key Responsibilities • Perform hardware repairs and maintenance on computers, peripherals, printers, and other devices used throughout the school. • Diagnose and resolve software issues, including installations, updates, configurations, and troubleshooting for district applications. • Provide support for VOIP telephone systems, including setup, configuration, troubleshooting connectivity issues, and user training. • Assist with Google Workspace administration, including user account management, email setup, shared drive permissions, and integration with classroom tools like Google Classroom. • Respond promptly to help desk requests via phone, email, or in-person, prioritizing urgent issues to support instructional continuity. • Conduct routine preventive maintenance, inventory tracking, and basic network checks to ensure equipment reliability. • Collaborate with district IT staff, teachers, and administrators to implement technology solutions that enhance teaching and learning. • Document support activities, maintain accurate records of repairs and inventory, and generate reports as needed. • Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with emerging educational technologies. Qualifications Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree or higher in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field preferred. Experience: Minimum of 2 years in a technical support role, with demonstrated familiarity in software/hardware repairs. Prior experience in an educational setting is a plus. Technical Skills: • Proficiency in hardware diagnostics and repairs (e.g., desktops, laptops, peripherals). • Strong knowledge of software troubleshooting, including Windows/macOS and common applications. • Hands-on experience with VOIP telephone systems (e.g., configuration, call routing, and integration). • Expertise in Google Workspace (G Suite), including admin console, collaboration tools, and security best practices. Soft Skills: Excellent problem-solving abilities, strong customer service orientation, and the ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical users (e.g., teachers and students). Must be reliable, detail-oriented, and able to work independently or as part of a team. Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, move equipment, and work in various school environments (classrooms, labs, offices).
